Today marks our departure from Sossusvlei.
Sossusvlei literally translates to dead end marsh. It’s an apt description. Once there was a marsh here, now it dead ends.
We woke very early to visit Namib Sky, a group that offers hot air balloon rides across the morning desert skies.
I love travel. It has become a huge part of my identity. There are many joys I’ve experienced on the road. However, between us, we should be honest about the reality of actual travel.
Africa has three main deserts, the Sahara, the Kalahari, and the Namib. We flew over two and will visit the other.
We are cleared for departure. Let’s go pet a lion and see what happens.
The casual observer might understandably wonder, What the Hell is wrong with these people? Who goes to Africa three times? Fair. It’s not normal.
