Series 17 – Farewell to Namibia

Today we say goodbye to Series 17 and Namibia.
-
Series 17 – Ongava

The Ongava Private Reserve hosts several lodges, all catering to different types of travelers. The owners originally bought four underproducing farms, and have used the property to protect and research endangered animals, specifically the rhinos. “Ongava” means rhino in the Herero language.

Series 17 – The Village Visit (and Birds)

A fellow tourist talked about her experience doing a “village visit” in another part of Namibia. It’s a thing to do, but I have questions.
-
Series 17 – Etosha National Park

Next to our lodge, Little Ongava, is Etosha National Park. It is a jewel in Namibia and well worth a visit. Just hire a guide.
-
Series 17 – More of the Ongava Game Reserve

More shots of animals found on the Ongava Private Game Reserve.
-
Series 17 – Ongava Game Reserve

Snaps from a recent game drive in the Ongava Game Reserve in Namibia.
-
Series 17 – Onduli Ridge Lodge

Our time at Onduli Ridge has come to a close. It is a most unusual place.
-
Series 17 – The Doubtful Fountain

Humans have been writing on flat surfaces for a long, long time.
-
Series 17 – Elephants of Onduli Ridge

The elephants are actually no where near Onduli Ridge.
-
Series 17 – The Desert From Above

As we flew to Windhoek and then Onduli Ridge, we flew over some impressive desert scenes.
