Iceland straddles the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. It is being pulled apart as the plates separate.
To count the waterfalls in this country is an exercise in very large numbers.
Before we depart Vik and head east, I have some final thoughts about glaciers.
2.5 hours east of Vik is Glacier lagoon, a … wait for it .. lagoon of, well, icebergs mainly. But the glacier plays an important role.

After a late start, today we spent the day exploring sea caves, cliffs, and glaciers around Vik.
Our flight was uneventful, and afterwards we drove to Vik. Dinner consisted of the traditional Icelandic meal of pizza and beer.
