In Other News
As Jesus once said, “The tourists ye will always destroy your precious environment.” We are like locusts. An article came out in the New York Times today about coolcations and the toll they are taking. Check out the article here, entitled “In Norway, Are Coolcations Taking a Toll?” You may need a subscription.
I am amused that the paper of record and I have similar thoughts. Goes to show that no matter what you think, dozens of other humans have already thought it.
Travel Onward
Today we head back to Reykjavik and to the Blue Lagoon. It’s geared for visitors, not locals. No Icelanders go there unless showing company a good time, like we do with the Statue of Liberty or Times Square. We are staying at a hotel on site, which I am hoping will allow us to see the lagoon at dawn and dusk, times not heavily traveled.
