Cleared for Departure

Series 17 – Farewell to Namibia

We have come to the end of our time together. It has been quite a journey.
We are not done with Namibia, however. On future trips more stories wait to be told, like the diverse geology, how glaciers shaped the landscape, the original inhabitants of these lands, the origins of humanity, the cities of Windhoek and Walvis Bay, and the Skeleton Coast.

In about two weeks I will follow up with an email regarding which charities RBD and I will donate to that help communities in the areas we traveled. As in years past, if you chose to donate any amount I will gladly send a full size digital copy of any pic (from this or any past trip) with enough pixels to print.

This will conclude the 2024 travel year. Personally and more locally other journeys soon begin. I start Physician Assistant school in early September. RBD begins a new job, also in September, now with even more power! Kidding. (Not kidding.) We journey to Brooklyn, moving July 4th. For me the commute to school will be ten minutes, down from over an hour. For her the commute remains the same.

Thank you to RBD, Executive Producer and Editor. A guy couldn’t ask for a better (traveling) partner in life. Thank you also to Seranne for her help these past years. Should anyone need a guiding hand while planning a memorable holiday in Southern Africa, look no further. Finally, thank you to everyone reading. I appreciate it. Thank you for your time and comments back.

Like the stubborn elephant, we continue moving forward, one step at a time, towards an uncertain future. There is risk. Hazards abound. Yet we go. I look forward to the day our path’s cross again.

Until then, be well.
