The Iceberg Has Landed

We arrived in one piece, landing in what looked like a recent lava field. Or the moon. I was so sleepy, I wasn’t entirely sure.

We drove three hours to Vik, and have settled in for the night after the traditional Icelandic meal of pizza and beer.

You can walk to the top, which is about 1000 feet. We probably won’t, though.

Despite Iceland’s popularity, this place does not seem overly crowded.
Icelandic architecture is very boxy. And horizontal. This is the town of Vik.
