Hello, and welcome back. Cleared for Departure is now in its 5th year, which is hard to believe. I may need merch soon. The first one I did of these was our first trip to New Zealand in 2014. The current incarnation began in November of 2017.
What a travel year it has been. My father departed planet Earth in February (the account of his death I wrote has not endeared me to certain family members). We visited Botswana in May (I still flashback to those cold sunrises and stunningly Impressionistic sunsets), Vancouver in Fall (getting into trouble with mom), achieved Delta Diamond status (why, yes, I will fly the plane but I’m not putting on pants), spent Thanksgiving in Virginia (this year’s party favor from the nephews was a stomach virus that involved an unscheduled G.I. cleanse #MiracleOfLife), and, now, plan to see Southern Spain for Christmas and New Years.
What does next year hold? Hard to know with Physician Assistant school looming. Of the four schools I applied to, I’ve heard nothing from three of them and got an outright rejection from the fourth. I am not heart broken. Meanwhile, I still am volunteering at New York Presbyterian in the Emergency Department. I am in the running for a new job in January at an Urgent Care on the East Side, which will allow me more experience and patient care hours for future applications. I will just keep applying till I get in somewhere. While I want it to be sooner, I have no control and, thus, cannot worry. That’s talk for tomorrow, though.
Today we begin Series 13, A Spanish Holiday. As always, thank you for joining us. Here’s the usual housekeeping items you’re all familiar with.

I hope you got all that. Very important. I’ll be back in a few days to discuss the itinerary.
