It occurred to me I was so busy showing destruction, I neglected to post some nice pics from our New Year’s Day train trip across the country. 

You can almost tell which pictures are western, wet and lush, and which pictures are easter, dry and brown.  

I spent a lot of time hanging out on the outdoor car, which has no windows.  Consequentially I smelt like diesel and had coal dust all over me.  (In the tunnels, I suspect our engine blew up the coal dust from other trains.)  RBD was concerned for my health.  I was too excited too care about inhaling known carcinogens.  

I will fill you all in tomorrow morning before departing New Zealand about our adventures today in Christchurch.
